AI has been utilized to improve multiple sectors of the world. Companies are joining this uprising, and trying their best to incorporate AI in their products somehow. Some companies have been designed to fully concentrate on the utilization of AI, not just as a product, but for the production of products.

Most notably, Cursor, a relatively new company has introduced and brought upon a new era of coding, one where little to no experience is needed to build full-stack applications. I have tried these products, because upfront it sounds amazing, that just about anyone has the ability to build a startup from home on one device. I wasn’t disappointed, but in particular it had an advantage to regular development that I didn’t expect.

Previously, I have used AI tools like Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT, to help me when coding got rough. They expressed a clear train of thoughts and what their process was, but ultimately it just wasn’t amazing. I mean, it saved me time, but it’s something I could do better, and I would value quality over speed when it comes to building applications. I had completely given up on using AI for coding.

Eventually Cursor was released. I heard about it and liked the whole AI editor idea so I tried it out. It built a proper application, and did so within the file organization of my computer so manual uploading wasn’t necessary. This was the first benefit I noticed, but again this is something a human could have easily done as well. I opened one of the HTML files, and the UI was really good.

I wouldn’t consider myself good at using CSS, but I’m not terrible. However Cursor did such a good job that I felt there's a big market for it. Seeing how quickly and how seamless the page was left me thinking that this could possibly be the specific part that AI will take over in software development.

The risk element is also low, because this way AI doesn’t directly handle things like databases and sensitive information. This is completely markup related, and AI has the ability to crawl and gather information so it can model sites based on what it's seen in professional setups.
