Computer Science and Data Science are closely related fields, but they focus on different goals. Computer Science is about building systems, software, and algorithms that power modern technology. Data Science is about analyzing data to find patterns, insights, and predictions.

In Computer Science, you might build applications, design operating systems, or develop efficient algorithms. It focuses heavily on logic, structure, and how to make software run efficiently. Common areas include software engineering, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence systems.

Data Science, on the other hand, focuses on working with large sets of data. It uses statistics, machine learning, and programming to understand trends and make decisions. Examples include predicting stock prices, recommending movies, or analyzing user behavior on apps.

The main difference is that Computer Science builds the tools, while Data Science uses those tools to interpret information. CS is more about creating systems, while DS is more about extracting meaning from data.

Despite their differences, they overlap a lot. Both use programming languages like Python, both rely on algorithms, and both are important in fields like artificial intelligence. Many careers today combine both skills.

Ultimately, choosing between them depends on what you enjoy. If you like building software and solving logical problems, Computer Science may be a better fit. If you enjoy working with data and discovering patterns, Data Science might be more interesting.
