I’m sure you’ve heard a claim stating that many jobs are in danger due to the rise of AI. Claims like these definitely pose a lingering insecurity inside of our head, since you don’t want to be replaced. Increasingly, in the work sector, AI is increasingly being incorporated into the tasks being carried out.

The reason behind this is the ability of AI agents. They can easily automate tasks, and do so with less mistakes. When you compare humans and AI agents how many benefits are there to hiring a human instead of using an agent. Agents are cheaper and more efficient and make less mistakes.

The sad reality is, many jobs are at risk. Jobs that can easily be automated online, like basic coding jobs are some of the first that will be affected. AI has extensive sets of data, and can create and iterate things rapidly. More senior positions in software companies that focus on management as opposed to actual coding won’t be replaced in my opinion.

This isn’t the first example of a big shift in the world revolving around the latest technology. A similar event occurred with the appearance of machines. Machines could do more laborious tasks, and didn’t need salaries, so they proved to be an alternative. People were presented with this issue a long time ago, and they panned out to be good investments after all.

As seen with the shift to utilizing robots over humans for more laborious tasks, it panned out well and actually created jobs around management. I think that a similar event will happen for AI, and AI management will be a career path later on. Whether it be physical representations of managements of agents, I think this is what the future holds.
